The fountains in Unirii Square
On September 28, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday: the wells will offer visitors multimedia shows between 20.00-21.00, as long as the weather allows. The Capital City Hall and Apa Nova mark the inauguration of a new tourist attraction of Bucharest – the reopening of the fountains in Unirii Square, through a memorable performance of the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra and an exceptional multimedia show that will take place on September 20. Access is free.
Event schedule:
20:00 – begins the inaugural show entitled “Water Symphony”, on the stage in Unirii Park, on the chords of the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Tiberiu Soare, with pianist Stefan Doniga and dancers Ana Vișan and Bogdan Iacob from Gigi Căciuleanu Dance Company ”.
21:00 – will begin a true artistic royal, designed to take visitors on a journey through 7 worlds that will talk about Romania – the world of water, fire, earth, air, the plant world and the world of the Centenary, all prefaced by the astral world.
Water screens
The central fountain in Unirii Square has integrated four “water screens” oriented towards the four cardinal points, meant to create a huge multimedia platform for videos, but also laser projections, the arrangement of water screens offering a unique three-dimensional effect in Europe. Now the fully digitally monitored system allows the control of any individual unit in the entire complex of 44 independent wells located 1.4 km from Alba Iulia Square to Constitution Square.
Les Ateliers Nomad has developed a complex creative concept that combines a unique choreography with all the animation techniques known in Europe. The fountains in Unirii Square, built at the end of the ’80s, represent one of the longest such systems in the world (1.4 km), with a water surface of 16,200 m², unique in its layout in the center of the Capital.
