The Municipal Stadium in Bacău, previously known as the Dumitru Sechelariu Stadium, is the main football arena in Bacău, hosting the matches of FCM Bacău team. Its capacity is 17,500 seats. The stadium underwent multiple renovations during the tenure of Mayor Dumitru Sechelariu, who decided to change its name in his honor. However, after obtaining UEFA approval to host international matches in 2003, the stadium has not undergone any further significant modifications and is in a state of partial degradation due to the lack of investment from local authorities.
In the near future, the construction of a new stadium is planned in the CFR neighborhood, with a capacity of 20,000 seats. The project includes, in addition to the stadium, the construction of a sports hall, a training ground, an athletics track, and a hotel. Additionally, a parking lot with a minimum capacity of 2,000 seats and an underground parking lot will be arranged. Public facilities will include a trophy museum, a sports goods store, food and beverage serving areas, while athletes will have access to locker rooms, a swimming pool, a gym, and other amenities. The appearance of the new stadium will be similar to that of the International Stadium in Haifa, except for the seating capacity.
