The Icacos beach is one of the beaches most famous and popular of the port of Acapulco , Guerrero , in southern Mexico . It is located northeast of the bay of Acapulco within the tourist area called Acapulco Dorado . It extends almost parallel to the Avenida Costera Miguel Alemán , from the El Presidente Hotel building to the Eighth Naval Region (Naval Base), crossing the Club Deportivo, Costa Azul and Icacos neighborhoods of the city. It is approximately 2060 m long, being the longest beach in Acapulco Bay. The beach is located in an area that has been commercially exploited with large and prestigious hotels, luxurious condominium towers, shopping centers, an infinity of restaurants and bars, discos, as well as a modern water park.
Icacos has waters of varied waves, which can go from very high to soft thanks to the protection provided by Cerro El Guitarrón, arm of the bay. When the beach obeys these variable conditions, it is ideal for the practice of different water sports. Icacos regularly has accessible surf for people of all ages.
