The Ignacio Manuel Altamirano Park , better known as the Papagayo Park , is a large ecological, recreational and tourist reserve located in the port of Acapulco , Guerrero , in southern Mexico . It has an area of 218,000 m² and houses, in addition to extensive green areas and three artificial lakes, a large number of exotic species in captivity. On the other hand, the park has children’s and popular recreation sites such as a fair, sports fields, a skating rink, a library, among many more. Because it is the only and most extensive green area in the city, it is known as The Green Lung of Acapulco .
