Måløy is a small town, with 3,000 residents, on the southeastern side of Vågsøy Island. Being connected to the mainland by the Måløy Bridge, it has one of the most important trading harbours in Norway and is one of the main fishing areas in the region. In fact, the island of Vågsøy has one of the most modern fish-processing plants in the whole country.
The nearest airports are Sandane Airport, Anda (68 km from Måløy town centre) and Florø Airport, around 100 km from Måløy.
