This is a webcam showing PK 35.4 Decreciente (A-2), located in Madrid, Spain. The Northeast Highway or A-2 is one of the six radial highways in Spain and connects Madrid with Barcelona through Guadalajara , Zaragoza and Lérida. It is part of the E-90 of the European Road Network. This road channels, using the La Junquera -Barcelona section of the Mediterranean motorway , to a large extent the traffic coming from the points of Europe that are located east of the Pyrenees and that goes mainly to the center of the Iberian Peninsula including Portugal . While, on the other hand, the North highway is the best access to the Iberian Peninsula from the west of the Pyrenees.In addition to its importance as a gateway to the peninsula from the rest of Europe, the A-2 has a vital role among Spanish roads as it is the communication between the two main cities of the country: Madrid and Barcelona .
