The Grand Ring Cam, Osaka
This live webcam shows viewers a clear view of the impressive Grand Ring in Osaka, Japan. This remarkable structure was created for the World Expo 2025 event and is drawing attention from around the globe. So massive it can be seen from the sky and built almost entirely from timber, it is recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest wooden architectural structure in the world. Spanning more than 61,000 square metres, it was constructed using traditional Japanese timber joinery techniques, where carefully crafted wooden elements fit together without reliance on modern metal fastenings. The Grand Ring stands on Yumeshima, a man-made island in Osaka Bay. From above, its sweeping circular form is striking, designed to symbolise unity and connection. The warm tones of the wood contrast beautifully with the surrounding waterfront, creating a scene that changes subtly with the light and weather throughout the day. Thanks to the live stream, people everywhere can watch the steady activity around the site and appreciate the sheer scale of the structure in real time. The camera captures not only the structure itself, but also the surrounding waterfront and Osaka Bay beyond.
