Ponta Delgada
Appreciate the holy place of the Santuário do Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres (Christ of Wonders) spilling from the city of Ponta Delgada, the capital of the Portuguese Azores archipelago, arranged on São Miguel Island. A picture of Christ is at this haven within the Community of Our Woman of Trust, in a Renaissance-style representation of the Ecce Homo. Every year, on the fifth Sunday after Easter the wooden picture of Christ is taken in a Christian Roman Catholic parade through the boulevards of Ponta Delgada, in one of the most seasoned devout dedications in Portugal.
