Orca Rubbing Beach Live Webcam – Malcolm Island, British Columbia

This underwater live webcam captures the unique “beach rubbing” behaviour of orcas in Johnstone Strait, British Columbia, Canada. The camera focuses on Bere Point Beach (Rubbing Beach) on Malcolm Island, one of the few places in the world where killer whales regularly rub their bodies against smooth pebbles near the shoreline.

Beach rubbing is a rare and natural behaviour observed only in this region, as orcas glide through the shallow water and gently make contact with the stones along the coast.

Visitors to Malcolm Island can improve their chances of seeing orcas by staying overnight at Bere Point Campsite or visiting Bere Point Regional Park. You can also watch additional live whale activity through the OrcaLab camera on nearby Hanson Island.
