Church on Spilled Blood

The centrepiece of this HD webcam is the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood (Церковь Спаса на Крови), located along the Griboedov Canal, in St. Petersburg, Russia. It was built between 1883 and 1907 at the request of the imperial family as a shrine on the site where Emperor Alexander II lost his life. This church is impressive on the outside and inside, with the interior walls and ceilings covered in mosaics with biblical scenes or images.
